At the heart of Malaysia’s growing animal welfare movement stands Lingy Pet Adoption, an initiative founded by Wendy Chak — a woman whose compassion for stray cats has transformed into a structured and sustainable rescue ecosystem. What began as a personal mission to help abandoned animals has now evolved into a well-organized network that connects rescuers, adopters, and supporting brands with one shared purpose: to give every rescued cat a real chance at a loving home.
A Mission Born from Compassion and Clarity
Wendy’s journey began with a simple act — rescuing her first cat. From that moment, she immersed herself in learning animal care and connected deeply with rescue volunteers and shelters. She quickly realized that while countless individuals were saving strays, most struggled with sustainability. Donation requests flooded social media, but rehoming remained a bottleneck.
Determined to change this, Wendy founded Lingy Pet Adoption with a clear and practical vision: to act as the bridge between rescuers and adopters, providing a platform where genuine animal lovers could meet responsibly.
Unlike traditional shelters, Lingy Pet Adoption focuses on small-scale rescues. Each cat receives personalized care, medical attention, and even gentle “human socialization training” to help them become affectionate, adoptable companions. For Wendy, every rescue’s story must end with a home — because “A rescue is only complete with rehoming”.
The Heart of Community Collaboration
Through years of tireless effort and successful adoption drives, Lingy Pet Adoption has attracted support from many brands and organizations that share Wendy’s mission.
Collaborating partners include Royal Canin, Purina, Pawmised Land, Levoit, Wendy Nutrition, Notti Pet, Grace Cat, Pet Universe, and many others.
In addition, to help more animals find loving homes efficiently, adopters can now visit Mypetslibrary to explore the Lingy Pet Adoption listings — where each furry friend is presented with clear photos and thoughtful details. It offers an easy and convenient way to find the right companion, making every adoption journey more personal, joyful, and heartwarming.
The 5R System — A Blueprint for Change
Wendy’s journey has evolved from the traditional 3R model — Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rehome — to a more holistic 5R system:
Rescue • Rehabilitate • Rehome • Resources • Reform
Through this framework, Wendy channels community and brand resources to support her network of individual rescuers. She mentors and guides them on medical care, nutrition, rehoming practices, and emotional resilience — helping more rescuers stand strong in the face of challenges.
The final “R”, Reform, reflects Wendy’s long-term vision — to reshape Malaysia’s animal welfare ecosystem into one where compassion, education, and collaboration lead the way.
A Palace for Cats — and a Symbol of Hope
Beyond her advocacy, Wendy’s personal commitment shines through her own sanctuary — a three-storey cat palace she built and renovated with her own resources. Complete with air conditioning, surveillance cameras, a treatment room, and spacious play areas, it’s home to more than 20 cats rescued from the streets.
A Future Built on Shared Responsibility
Wendy believes that every rescuer’s sacrifice will one day be repaid — not just through gratitude, but through a working ecosystem where businesses, rescuers, and the public come together for a common goal.
Her mission is clear:
“Rescue alone is not enough — real change comes when we build a system where everyone plays their part.”
With Lingy Pet Adoption, Wendy is proving that compassion can be structured, sustainability can be achieved, and that every small rescue contributes to a greater reform.
