Our Story

At Klang Sentral, Selangor, My Pets Haven stands as a safe refuge for abandoned and abused animals. Founded in 2011 by Aunty Aileen, the centre reflects her passion and lifelong commitment to animal welfare.

Her journey began after leaving her career as a pub owner and later working in a pet shop. Troubled by the lack of proper care she witnessed, she decided to start her own rescue centre — a decision that has since changed the lives of countless strays.

Today, My Pets Haven cares for over 35 dogs and 15 cats, providing medical treatment, vaccinations, and rehabilitation while finding them permanent homes. More than a thousand animals have already been rehomed under Aunty Aileen’s care.

Adoption With a Purpose

Adopting from My Pets Haven comes with responsibility: all adopters must agree to spay or neuter their pets. A refundable deposit of RM300 for dogs or RM180 for cats ensures this commitment, with full refunds provided once proof of surgery is shown. Adoption is straightforward — choose your pet, call Aunty Aileen for a short interview, and arrange pick-up or visit the centre directly.

My Pets Haven operates independently, without government funding. For years, Aunty Aileen relied on her own savings, but today, donations from the public are what keep the centre alive. Contributions fund rescues, veterinary treatments, spaying and neutering, food, and daily care, ensuring every rescued animal is safe and cared for until adoption.

Volunteer and Make a Difference

Beyond donations, My Pets Haven also welcomes volunteers to support its daily operations. Extra hands are especially needed in the mornings, when work is busiest. Volunteers can help with walking the dogs, cleaning the shelter, assisting in rescues, bathing dogs, arranging newspapers, and of course, spending time playing with the animals. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn and a heart for animals.

More than an adoption shelter, My Pets Haven is a community-driven mission of resilience and compassion. Aunty Aileen continues to dream of expanding the centre’s capacity, giving even more strays a chance at life, dignity, and a loving home.
